The obverse of the Utah Goldback spotlights an image of “Victoria”, an embodiment of victory in the form of a suffragette. She wears clothing popular in the 1870s, and a sash extends from her right shoulder to her left hip that reads “Votes Counting Since 1870”. She carries an American flag and a bundle of wheat, a traditional symbol of victory that indicates Utah’s role in the women's suffrage movement. An American eagle flies overhead, and she is surrounded by natural foliage in the mountains. Also, a young child rides a tricycle by her feet.  

The reverse is intentionally left blank with a negative image from the front. This also serves as a security feature to better protect the Utah Goldbacks from counterfeiting.
